Opera singer Sophie Gallagher was awarded first prize at the 2021 Gustav Mahler Competition in Geneva with duo partner and pianist Émile Chandellier. Her first European debuts were made as Emmie in Albert Herring by Benjamin Britten for Maggio Musicale Firenze (Jonathan Webb/Alessandro Talevi) and as First Witch in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas (Harry Bickett/English Concert) at l’Opéra de Lausanne.
In the UK, Sophie has performed solo recitals at The Queen's Gallery Buckingham Palace and as a soloist for numerous Oratorio engagements including Schutz’ Christmas Oratorio at St. John's Smith Square.
